What you can expect

We understand that time is almost always an issue and you want your car back as soon as possible. Shipping used, rebuilt and remanufactured engines and transmissions across the country can take some time. The industry average for delivery of such an item is around two weeks or more!
At American Auto Distributing we have expedited this process and typically our customer has their used, rebuilt, or remanufactured engine or transmission within 3-7 business days…many times even quicker!
When your order is placed with one of our dedicated salespeople they will provide you with a confirmation number and invoice along with a realistic timeframe of when you can expect delivery. A tracking number will be provided to you within 24 hours of your order being shipped allowing you to track your used, rebuilt or remanufactured engine or transmission all the way to its final destination.

Used Replacement engine vs. Rebuilt Replacement engine

A used replacement engine or a rebuilt/remanufactured replacement engine? Which is a better option for you? That is a question everyone must answer and we will provide you with the knowledge and insight to make that decision.
First, every used replacement engine we sell has been run and compression tested to ensure it is the best possible quality. Due to our unique access to a vast national inventory, we are able to have multiple used replacement engines tested and don’t have to rely on just one or two options like so many of our competitors. This allows us to be sure that you get the best possible quality available in the marketplace.
A rebuilt/remanufactured replacement engine is a significantly different product. A rebuilt/remanufactured replacement engine has been taken apart by a certified engine rebuilder and repaired internally with all OEM replacement parts. Due to this process, most times this will be the most reliable option but also the most expensive option.
All rebuilt/remanufactured engines will be delivered as a bare long block so typically your mechanic may need to charge additional labor for install when compared to a used replacement engine. With our unique 3-year parts and labor extended warranty available on most used engines, you are able to enjoy the best of both worlds when purchasing a used replacement engine. You are able to spend less for the replacement engine and the installation but at the same time, you can enjoy the same guarantee typically reserved only for rebuilt/remanufactured engines with a 5-year parts and labor extended warranty!
