Warranty Terms and Conditions
- The engine warranty covers block, heads, and all internals. Bolt-on accessories, wiring, sensors, timing components, external seals and gaskets and turbos are not warranted nor is damage due to their failure.
- New timing belt and new thermostat must be installed. If your engine has a timing chain, it is the installing mechanics responsibility to inspect the timing chain and its components and replace as needed. Some models require timing chain and component replacement prior to install, if it is required for your model it will be reflected on your invoice. Timing is external to the engine and is not a covered component, click here for more info.
- Must install and properly notify AAD within 21 days of receipt of engine or transmission.
- 90-day parts warranty will apply regardless of activation of extended warranty unless otherwise noted on your invoice
- 1st oil change must be performed at 30 days or 1000 miles after install. All subsequent oil changes every 3 months or 3000 miles.
- All maintenance must be performed by a commercial lubrication facility or repair shop with ASE Certification. Computer generated invoices must have contract holder listed as customer and must include the work performed, VIN and exact odometer reading. Handwritten receipts and invoices are not acceptable as proof of maintenance. Contract holder may not have a vested financial value thanks to your free pay stub template or personal interest in the facility performing the maintenance.
- Upon notification of claim, all documents requested by AAD including but not limited to maintenance history and written diagnosis along with detailed repair recommendations by ASE Certified Shop must be received by AAD via email within 7 days or coverage will be permanently denied. Additional information requested may include pictures and/or videos to assist in proving your loss.
- AAD will issue a coverage decision within 7 days of satisfactory receipt of ALL REQUESTED documentation. Failure to comply with requests pertaining to proof of loss will be considered non-compliance and coverage will be permanently denied. AAD reserves the right to inspect any part considered for warranty.
- All warranties are valid for original contract holder only and coverage benefits are non-transferrable. Vehicle title must have the contract holder listed as primary owner at the time of claim for coverage to apply. At its discretion, AAD may request the most recent copy of title and/or registration as proof of current ownership.
- Coverage is limited to repair or replacement of the part. Diagnostic, removal and teardown are not covered. Labor for original install is not covered at any time.
- Melting of heat tabs or removal of heat tabs will permanently void coverage.
- All parts are interchangeable with multiple years makes and models. We guarantee to send an interchangeable matched part although it may be from a different year make or model.
- Any mileage given on a used auto part is an estimation only and cannot be used as a measure of quality and is not guaranteed.
- Problems relating to a negligent install will not be covered. You are not required to use a certified mechanic; however, it is your responsibility to chose a qualified mechanic who will properly prepare your engine or transmission for install. Additional costs associated with preparing your used auto part for install should be contemplated by the installing mechanic and addressed appropriately go and see more here.
Return and Cancellation Policy
- You have thirty days from date of purchase to cancel and return the merchandise if you are not happy with it. You are responsible for all freight and a 25% restocking fee will apply.
- Every used auto part will show some level of use and/or corrosion. We do not guarantee appearance as it is not an indication of the part quality but an indication of the parts appearance. If you are unhappy with the appearance you may return the part under the return policy.
- Any part returned without prior written authorization from AAD will be refused.
Requirements of Notification and Extended Warranty Activation
- If you have an extended warranty with the purchase of your engine or transmission, coverage is not in place until you’ve completed the activation. To activate your extended warranty, the part must be properly installed and AAD properly notified within 21 days of your receiving the engine. All information will only be accepted via email and must include the following.
- Contract holder’s name, address, phone number and email address.
- VIN, odometer reading at time of install and the engine install date.
- Picture/video of odometer
- Video of odometer and engine with hood open and running in vehicle
- Final acknowledgement of these terms and conditions
- Extended warranty coverage begins 14 days and 500 miles after proper notification of a successful engine installation is received. A successful installation is accomplished when the engine or transmission has been installed and is running properly, is free of external leaks and all codes and warning lights have been cleared.
Coverage Limitations for Engine Extended Warranty
- Labor coverage to be paid by AAD is for repair or install only, not removal and will not exceed $65 per hour. Total labor paid will not exceed ten hours or applicable hours as derived by nationally recognized labor time guide (All Data, Chilton’s, etc.). Labor will only be paid to an ASE Certified shop and will be paid in full within 5 business days of the satisfactory completion of the repair. Coverage period for extended warranty is 5 years or 60,000 miles from the activation point, whichever is first.
- The replacement engine is to be supplied by AAD only unless agreed to otherwise in writing and as part of a coverage settlement. The cost of all parts by supplied by AAD will count against the contract aggregate liability.
- Contract lifetime limit of liability is the lessor of $2500 (aggregate of parts plus labor) or the actual cash value (ACV) of the vehicle at the time of claim according to KBB.com fair trade in value adjusted for miles. Adds for equipment are not acceptable.
- Work performed without prior written authorization by AAD will not be covered and may jeopardize coverage for current and/or future claims.
- Labor coverage does not extend to your original install under this or any other agreement.
- Labor coverage does not extend to diagnostic under this or any other agreement.
- Rotary engines are not eligible for extended warranty coverage.
- Commercial use and vehicles held for re-sale are not eligible for extended warranty coverage.
Coverage Limitations for Transmission Extended Warranty
- Labor coverage to be paid by AAD is for repair or install only, not removal and will not exceed $50 per hour. Total labor paid will not exceed five hours or applicable hours as derived by nationally recognized labor time guide (All Data, Chilton’s, etc.). Labor will only be paid to an ASE Certified Transmission shop and will be paid in full within 5 business days of the satisfactory completion of the repair. Coverage period for extended warranty is 1 year or 15,000 miles from the activation point, whichever is first.
- The replacement transmission is to be supplied by AAD only unless agreed to otherwise in writing and as part of a coverage settlement. The cost of all parts by supplied by AAD will count against the contract aggregate liability.
- Contract lifetime limit of liability is the lessor of $1500 (aggregate parts plus labor) or the actual cash value (ACV) of the vehicle at the time of claim according to KBB.com fair trade in value adjusted for miles. Adds for equipment are not acceptable.
- Work performed without prior written authorization by AAD will not be covered and may jeopardize coverage for current and/or future claims.
- Labor coverage does not extend to your original install under this or any other agreement.
- Labor coverage does not extend to diagnostic or RDI under this or any other agreement.
- CVT transmission are not eligible for extended warranty coverage.
Exclusions and Voided Coverage
- Any and all claims or damage resulting from: abuse, negligence, freezing, overheating of any type, failure to maintain proper coolant, fluid, refrigerant, or lubrication levels, personal damages, per diem expenses, storage fees, medical expenses, telephone or rental charges, fire, flood, vandalism, theft, collision, acts of GOD, competition or racing, usages not approved by the vehicle manufacturer, improper load capacity, or improper towing, damages caused by contaminated fluids, coolants, or lubricants for any reason, misuse, road conditions, riots or acts of war. Excessive oil consumption and diminished performance are not covered. Leaking seals, gaskets or fittings are not covered. Vehicle components that require normal manufacturer’s recommended replacement intervals are not covered. Benefits are not active until all applicable fees or installment payment plan confirmation has been received by the administrator who will set up a plan depending on your salary received thanks to your company paystub generator. Benefits are not active until the customer activates warranty
- Pre-existing conditions and problems that occur prior to the benefit activation date and mileage are not covered. Covered components that are worn or burned but NOT broken are not covered. Broken covered components are defined as components that have cracked or separated into pieces. Covered components that are flaking or have been damaged by excessive heat or scoring are not covered.
- Any component not listed as a covered component, is not covered. Damage to a covered component due to non-covered component failure is not covered.
- Vehicles with: a non-functioning odometer, a diesel engine manufactured before 1990, a rotary engine, alterations not approved by the manufacturer including, but not limited to, over-sized or undersized tires and lift kits, and vehicles used for commercial purposes are not eligible for coverage under this extended warranty.
- Claims occurring outside the United States are not covered.
- Once a claim has been initiated, the purchaser may not continue to operate the vehicle until a claim decision has been made. Continued operation will permanently void coverage.
- Any work or repair done to vehicle without prior written authorization from administrator is not considered an authorized claim.
- Warranty will void if the part is used for racing, operated without proper fluids, or a melted heat tab.
- Freight is not paid under this or any other agreement.
- Towing & diagnostic charges are not paid under this contract.
- Breakdown or failure means totally inoperable. It does not mean a decrease or gradual reduction in the parts performance due to normal or abnormal wear and tear.
- Breakdowns covered by factory recall.
- Any covered part which is not broken or inoperable, which a repair facility recommends or requires to be repaired or replaced is not covered.
- Breakdowns to a covered part already replaced under the contract.
- Defective parts must be made available for inspection upon the claims administrator’s request.
- Improper installation will void coverage.

- We do not warranty oil leaks/damage on engines or transmissions due to non-replaced seals, gaskets or filters.
- Transmission cooler lines must be flushed or warranty will be void.
- Fraudulent claims or misrepresented facts of any kind at any time will void all coverage.
- If you have any legal claim against American Auto Distributing and arbitration is rejected, you agree that any action, claim or suit shall only be brought in the District Court, Maricopa County, Arizona. If you bring any such action, claim or suit against AAD in any court or forum other than in Maricopa County, Arizona, we will seek dismissal of your action, claim, or suit and require that it be maintained in Maricopa County, Arizona
